Del Beccaro to step down as CCRP Chair
March 5, 2008
State Republican Vice Chairman Tom Del Beccaro announced he is concentrating his efforts towards his added role to be head of Party’s Golden State Leadership Fundraising Team. In that role, the Vice Chairman will build upon the recent successful fundraising event he chaired at the San Francisco Convention on February 22, 2008 with additional fundraising events throughout the year.
In connection with those added duties, the State Vice Chair will be relinquishing his role as the Contra Costa County Chairman effective in April of 2008. The Contra Costa Party will hold elections for their new Chairman at that time.
Ebonics for Republicans: “The New Conservative Paradigm”

The New Conservative Paradigm
by Thomas G. Del Beccaro
TMK Books
ISBN: 978-0-9801142-0-1
Some fuss has been made recently concerning the appearance of “The New Conservative Paradigm,” by Thomas G Del Beccaro. Del Beccaro is the Vice Chair of the California Republican Party, and Chairman of the Contra Costa County Republican Central Committee.
Tempting fate, just like the current batch of Republican presidential candidates, Del Beccaro claims to be the new delphic oracle of Reaganism. In fact, New Paradigm does nothing more than repackage the “three legs of the stool” analogy commonly used to describe the erstwhile Reagan Coalition: fiscal conservatives; pro-defense/military; and social conservatives.

CCRP has become Tom Del Beccaro’s Mickey Mouse Club
January 4, 2008
Who’s the leader of the Club that doesn’t care about the rank or file?
It’s Tom Del Beccaro, Chairman of the Contra Costa County Republican Central Committee, who, for all intents and purposes, has hijacked the party apparatus for his own self-aggrandizement.
The most recent e-mail blast from the Contra Costa Republican Party presents another sad illustration of what happens when a weak non-profit board and constituency that does not know how—or care— to provide appropriate organizational leadership, governance, or oversight, can be commandeered by an unchecked, enterprising chairperson bent on appropriating the organization’s resources willy-nilly to benefit personal agenda.
This newsletter isn’t at all about CCRP news. The first thing you see is Tom’s photo, not the picture of the new temporary and part-time Executive Director. The top news is not about upcoming events, but an appeal to leave the site and click through to the Chairperson’s personal website that hawks highly questionable predictions about the 2008 presidential campaign (he predicts Hillary is too formidable and will be the inevitable Democrat nominee) and his book that is still not available on Amazon despite the claims of his toadies in November that it would become a best seller overnight.
This is worse than sad. It is embarrassing. It’s time Tom’s Mickey-Mouse Club, doing business as the CCRP, find some weaker constituency to prey on. Hopefully, it will not be the California Republican Party.
Message from Contra Costa GOP Chairman
December 29, 2007
I swear I don’t make this stuff up. Here’s an e-mail from a fan of the Chairman of the Contra Costa GOP that purportedly contains this Important Message from Tom Del Beccaro.
Contra Costa GOP website touts Irish Republican Army to attract visitors
December 23, 2007
We wrote about this topic earlier this year, but it bears repeating.
Republicans should be aghast that the Contra Costa GOP website promotes the Irish Republican Army (IRA) as something that the GOP stands for in its META KEY TERMS of it website.
Here is the source for the home page of the site as of 12/20/2007;22:11.
What on earth is the Contra Costa GOP doing putting “define GOP” next to “Irish Republican Army” in the content of its META KEYTERMS of its HTML source code for its web site? To attract fresh recruits after all the sane people leave the party in disgust?
What sick, twisted ego would allow some webmaster, even if family, to list the bloody IRA as a keyterm in the hopes of attracting clicks? Is this some sort of black-hat Reaganism we didn’t hear about?
Furthermore, what business is it of the CC GOP website to promote Tom “Del Beccaro” as a keyterm, or his blessed book? This is madness, petty self-aggrandizement, and search-engine optimization lunacy.
Truth is, no one ever searches for “Tom Del Beccaro.”
Have you seen this child?
December 19, 2007
An Amber Alert may soon be released for missing child-actor, Thomas G. Beccaro, writer, producer, and director of the unsuccessful Contra Costa GOP. Tom has been missing from important political debates and party leadership in Contra Costa County for years. Here are the details of the bulletin:
WHO: Tom Del Beccaro, CC GOP Chair and #2 Republican statewide
WHO CARES?: HalfwayToConcord.com, Republican rank and file, and California FPPC want answers over charges of massive mismanagement, electoral failure, and bogus reporting.
DESCRIPTION: Petulant, rapidly aging with L.A. pony tail that even Martinez councilman Mark Ross, had the sense to lose years ago.
FAVORITE PHRASE: “Don’t you know who I am?”
LAST SEEN: Belittling office workers, volunteers, vendors, and those who dare disagree with him.
BUZZ: Current rumor says Tom has fled the country with Nagaraja Rao, Chairman of the county Democratic central committee, to avoid having to answer embarrassing questions about how they run their respective party organizations.
LAST HEARD FROM: Misuse of Party e-mail list to order California Republicans to buy his book for Christmas or God (i.e. Tom) will withhold party favors.
ADDRESS: Unknown, as CC GOP lost its lease with no known forwarding address.
CONTACT: Unknown, as former ED has left and no one wants to work with a megalomaniac.
Tom: We love you and hope you get some help. Let us know you’re OK and leave a message at 925-215-8463!
disPatches: Contra Costa GOP gone to the dogs
December 16, 2007
My name is Patches, and like most mutts, my sense of smell is a thousand times keener than any human’s. So when I get a whiff of something nasty in the woodshed, I can’t help myself from digging up the dirt.
Case in point: More than a few Contra Costa County Republicans have been grumbling lately about the sorry state of the Contra Costa GOP under the lone wolf leadership of Tom Del Beccaro, Esq. While Chairman Del Beccaro will brow beat anyone he can bully into a corner about increased Republican turnout for the Governor’s ill-fated ballot fiasco, he fails to address the more important bones of contention, including but not limited to:
- the much-touted “increased” turnout was lower in comparison to statewide trends
- the unforgivable loss of Richard Pombo’s Congressional seat (CD-11) despite a clear Republican registration edge
- the decline of Republican registration overall during his tenure as Chair
- questionable staffing decisions including Del Beccaro’s personal selection of the young and inexperienced Executive Directoress
- the lack of discernable profit from the much ballyhooed speaker series
- the rumored inability to scrape together the down payment for the venue and caterer for the local party’s annual Red White and Blue Ball.
- questionable reporting procedures including unreported in-kind value of donated auction items
- questions about the payment and use of “Bounty” money paid for voter registration
- failure to produce meaningful financial statements
The list, as they say, goes on. Read more
