Concord Council to appoint vacant seat
August 16, 2007
Concord City Council voted unaminously for an appointment process to fill the vacant seat left by the tragic and untimely passing of Councilmember Michael Chavez. Council must name a replacement by September 4, according to State law for General Law cities. Council’s discussion with staff concluded that the interview process for potential candidates would be public, but it was not certain how the question was left as to whether the candidate interviews would be televised.
