About Supervisor Karen Mitchoff
Supervisor Karen Mitchoff was sworn in as Contra Costa County District IV Supervisor in January of 2011. Her professional background in the public sector includes working as an Administrative and Fiscal Analyst for the county’s Employment and Human Services Department, serving as Chief of Staff for former Supervisors Sunne Wright McPeak and Mark DeSaulnier, and working as the Executive Secretary for former Sheriff-Coroner Richard Rainey.
Prior to her service on the Board of Supervisors, she served on the Pleasant Hill City Council from 2008 to 2010 and served as Mayor for 2010. Supervisor Mitchoff attended local public schools and then went on to DVC where she earned an AA degree in business. She graduated from Cal State East Bay with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development. Supervisor Mitchoff has also served on the Pleasant Hill Recreation and Park District Board, Citizens’ Advisory Committee on Redevelopment, and Planning Commission.
Supervisor Karen Mitchoff serves Pleasant Hill, part of Walnut Creek, Clayton, Concord, and Concord Centre, but she will talk about issues affecting the entire county.
