John Fitzgerald challenges aging incumbent for CA-11 Primary

Under Congressman George Miller’s leadership, we have the highest unemployment, worst housing crisis and poorest educational system our country has ever seen. He killed Dennis Kucinich’s Single-Payer Health Care Bill (HR 676) in committee, which would have allowed each state to vote independently of others. Yet he and his fellow legislators enjoy the same universal health care for life that we were denied. He was a chief signatory for the “No Child Left Behind” bill and voted against Ron Paul’s HR 1207 which would have given Congress the power to audit the privately-owned Federal Reserve.

I’m John Fitzgerald and I am running for the U.S. House of Representatives, California District 11, in the June 5th primary election. Here is why you should vote for me!

I’m a contractor from Concord with a wife and three children and attended De La Salle and San Francisco State. Although running as a Democrat, I’m an American first and foremost. We must set aside our partisan differences and not let the media and politicians divide us further so we can restore our country to greatness.

My platform can be summarized in a sentence:

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States of America against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

The United States of America is a constitutional republic governed by the rule of law and the consent of the governed. As your congressman, I will seek to repeal all unconstitutional laws, starting with the Patriot Act and the National Defense Authorization Act.

The NDAA gives the military the power to round up and indefinitely detain US citizens without representation or due process and violates most of the Bill of Rights. President Obama knowingly violated his oath of office when he signed it into law on New Years Eve.

I will vote to de-fund and end both our overt wars on Iraq and Afghanistan and our covert wars in Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Pakistan, Syria and Iran. We should close our 900+ foreign bases, end the wars we’re in and not start or join any new ones. Only Congress can decide whether we go to war, not the president, not NATO, nor the UN. Let’s bring all our troops home now.

I also question the official 9/11 story which was used to justify these wars. Six of the ten 9/11 commissioners said they were lied to and the 9/11 report was a whitewash. I agree with the 1,600+ architects and engineers who call for a new independent investigation of the events of 9/11, particularly the free-fall collapse of the 47-story WTC7 – which was not hit by a plane.

9/11 gave the excuse to ramp up an Orwellian police state, supposedly to combat Al Qaeda, but now it’s clearly directed at you and me, the American people. Our phones are tapped, our emails read and anyone disagreeing with the government can be branded a terrorist and indefinitely detained. Police departments are buying tanks and our skies will soon be patrolled by 30,000 Homeland Security drones.

We must disband the TSA. I will vote to deny appropriations for this unconstitutional and lawless agency. Airports should hire sworn peace officers to provide airport security who will obey the Fourth Amendment. The TSA has no constitutional authority to randomly search people at shopping malls, bus stations, trains and highway checkpoints without probable cause.

The banks own Washington. Democrat and Republican lawmakers let them perform the biggest heist in history, looting untold trillions from us, our children and grandchildren.

McClatchy newspapers reported that Goldman Sachs  and other international banks deliberately triggered the global economic collapse by shorting the fraudulent mortgage-backed securities and derivatives they sold. Their unprecedented fraud led to the destruction of the Icelandic and Greek economies. Iceland fought back by jailing their bankers and filing billion-dollar lawsuits – and now their economy is booming, while Greece is in ruins. We need a full investigation into the crimes of these megabanks and should prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law – up to and including revocation of their charter to operate.

“There are only two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by sword, the other is by debt.” – John Adams.

The Federal Reserve is a cartel of private bankers controlling the U.S. money supply and charging us hundreds of billions of dollars in interest on currency they print out of thin air. Only Congress should issue our money, as the Constitution mandates. We need a full audit of the Fed, including the naming of all private shareholders who must account for – and return – the tens of trillions they gave to foreign banks and companies in Europe and beyond.

I will introduce legislation to make it a felony to knowingly add biologically harmful agents to our food, air, water or vaccines.

Food packaging must prominently display which toxins are present, similar to the warnings on tobacco products. These would include pesticides, genetically modified (GM) food and aspartame. GM food has been banned across Europe because it causes cell death, organ failure and sterility in mammals. I would withdraw all agricultural subsidies for the production of GM crops and livestock and hold manufacturers of GM seed liable for damage caused when their seed contaminates organic farms.

I will propose legislation to ban geoengineering programs and research by repealing 50 USC Section 1520a which allows the military to test chemical and biological weapons on the civilian population without our knowledge or consent.

I will also propose legislation to strip the legal immunity protecting vaccine manufacturers from prosecution by people harmed by their vaccines. It should be a felony to deny work, housing or education to any person who chooses not to vaccinate themselves or their children.

To bring back manufacturing jobs and stop outsourcing we must leave NAFTA, CAFTA, GATT and the WTO. I oppose UN Agenda 21 and will resist further moves towards global economic union and governance. We should not be ruled by unelected, private organizations like the UN. We should also leave NATO – the Cold War is over and NATO has no business telling us which countries to bomb.

The drug war has been an expensive disaster for everyone except the cartels, prison-industrial complex and banks like Wells Fargo/ Wachovia who were caught laundering $370 billion in drug money. When Portugal decriminalizing drugs, crime rates plummeted and drug usage halved. In Mexico the drug war claimed 47,000 lives in five years, fueled by the illegal shipping of tens of thousands of guns to the cartels by the US Justice Department (Operation Fast and Furious). But the cartels do not stop at the border – Phoenix, AZ is second only to Mexico City as world kidnapping capital. Decriminalizing drugs takes profit out of the drug trade and money spent locking up nonviolent drug offenders would be better spent on rehabilitation and medical treatment.

“The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

Pretty clear, don’t you think? But our emails are read, phone conversations recorded, cable TV and internet activity logged – and now Smart Meters record which household appliances we use and when. All without warrants, all violating the Fourth Amendment.

As your congressman, I will introduce legislation mandating all private and governmental agencies collecting data from US citizens to tell us in clear language what data is being collected (including text, voice, location, video, audio and web activity), how it’s collected and who gets access to it. Citizens would be able to opt-out of all data collection (similar to the Do Not Call registry) and be provided fast track prosecution under the 4th Amendment if it continues. Law enforcement and Homeland Security could still track suspects by legally obtaining warrants. I also oppose SOPA, PIPA, CISPA and all other attempts to stifle free speech on the Internet.

Please vote for me in the June 5th primary election so I can continue my fight against the systematic destruction of our middle and working class and break the stranglehold transnational corporations and their lobbyists have on too many of our elected officials in Washington, DC.

Let’s return to the Constitution and make America great once more. Our children’s future depends on it.

We have been following John Fitzgerald for some time now. We really like John’s approach to how we are getting screwed by our govt. and the focus John has on the REAL ISSUES we are facing on a daily basis to get us back on track. John speaks with a lot of compassion and conviction, and is not afraid to speak his mind. I suppose that is because John really does his homework on what is going on and KNOWS what he is talking about! It’s about time we have someone in office that is in touch with our concerns of what is happening all around us, rather than the business as usual agenda to line his pockets. John believes in our Constitution, our Bill of Rights and wants them restored! We believe John Fitzgerald should be George Miller’s immediate replacement. We really need fresh new ideas and not the same old “good ol’ boys” network anymore. Stand up America and let your voice be heard! And go John Fitzgerald! You have our vote!
