Healthcare tax to exempt unions

It is now apparent, when it comes to healthcare, Congressional Democrats don’t believe in eating the same dog food they are willing to foist on the rest of the American public.

In a proposal from Sen Bacchus, a Democrat from Montana, union members will be exempt from the healthcare benefit tax. Many union members, who enjoy some of the most extensive and costliest health benefits, are serving under their exclusive collective bargaining agreements that must not be subjected to the same tax to which most working people will be subjected, according to Bacchus.

What’s worse, the Kennedy health plan will exempt both members of Congress as well as federal employees from a third rate public plan. This will allow Congressional members and federal workers to keep their own luxury-class healthcare plan, while millions of Americans will be forced to eat slop dressed up as healthcare from their masters’ table in the big house.

It’s just not that Democrats and Obama are hypocrites—Kennedy knows he’d still be waiting for brain surgery if he had the same insurance Obama wants to shove down your throat.

It’s more than that. These Democrat healthcare policies put skin and bones on Obama’s crony Capitalism and Corporatism that rewards loyal supporters instead of protecting the equal rights of every American. Such policies are just a whisper of the facism that always comes after such critical boundaries have been shattered in a society.

Time to put the green arm bands on.

  1. Richard S. Colman says

    To the Editor:

Those timid souls who run our overbearing, overtaxing, and overspending government now want to eliminate any health-care benefit tax for union members.

Why stop there? Why doesn’t government exempt union members from income taxes, property taxes, payroll taxes, sales taxes, gasoline taxes, and liquor taxes?

Then, everyone in America would want to be in a union.

And if all Americans were in a union. no one would have to pay taxes.

To paraphrase Barry Goldwater: Extremism in the defense of tax avoidance is no vice.
