Discount transit cards for Concord Seniors available at Police Station, June 11

On Monday June 11, the Concord Police Department will begin to process and issue BART Clipper Cards to local senior citizens, 65 and older. Clipper Cards are an all-in-one transit card that keeps track of any passes, discount tickets, ride books and cash value loaded onto it, while applying all applicable fares, discounts and transfer rules. Clipper Cards can be used on BART, AC Transit, Muni, VTA, SamTrans, Caltrain and Golden Gate Transit and Ferry.

The current discount rate for seniors using Clipper Cards is approximately 62.5 percent.
Seniors who wish to apply for a Clipper Card from the Concord Police Department should bring a completed application form and identification (such as a driver’s license, passport or birth certificate) to the Community Service Desk, 1350 Galindo St., during normal business hours (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays). Once the cards are issued, recipients may load their cards at any BART station, at a Clipper Card retailer, or online.
