Diablo Dems host Assembly candidate Joan Buchanan, May 21

The candidacy of Joan Buchanan for State Assembly in the 15th District gives the Democratic Party a competitive chance of turning the district blue for the first time in 25 years. She will speak to the Diablo Valley Democratic Club on Wednesday, May 21, from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Mt. Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek. Her topic will be “The 3 E’s,” Education, Economic Growth and the Environment, in California.” Bring a nonperishable food for the Monument Crisis Center.
According to Diablo Democrtats, Buchanan, a four-time president of the San Ramon Valley School Board, is credited with restoring financial soundness to the district and developing outstanding labor relations. During her tenure, test scores have increased every year and new programs have been introduced.
