Our ex-journalist, bloggin’ friend, Pat Keeble, has just posted her roundup of the of candidate filings for the upcoming Fall 2008 elections at Contra Costa Insider. She points out possible Battle Royales in Richmond (five incumbents running for three open seats) and Martinez (downtown redevelopment and Jerry Mathers as the Beaver). Got something to say?

Thanks for recognizing Pat Keeble. She has been a great writer of the Contra Costa Political scene for a long time. She never gets the recognition she deserves.
Pat please write that book you were talking about a while ago about some of the great political characters of Contra Costa county. You really need to do that.
~ EDITOR REPLIES — We’ve been honored to post Pat’s Contra Costa Insider articles since beginning of year. Part of what blogging is about is to reference the work and opinions of others to help build out a web of community and dialogue. Claycord and other bloggers in the area do it in their own way. Pat is a gem; and having been a “real journalist” following County politics she does adds a seasoned voice and insight. You can too!
Dr. Harmesh Kumar, who ran for Concord City Council in 06, has pulled papers for another possible run. He currently serves on the Concord Human Relations Commission. And LaShawn Wells, who has served also on the Concord Human Relations Commission, has also pulled papers per Concord City Clerk, Mary Rae Lehman.
