Concord RotoCare mobile clinic offers free health care for uninsured

The Rotary Clubs of the Concord-Clayton area have banded together to provide a FREE health care clinic on Thursday nights in Concord called RotoCare. Joined by generous donations from John Muir Hospital and others, and staffed by Rotarians from the County, RotoCare works very simply to exemplify the Rotary motto of Service Above Self.

The mobile clinic is staffed by medical doctors, nurses, pharmacists, social workers and if language issues are present, translators.

All you have to do is to: 1. be uninsured; 2. call 925-429-6409 for an appointment Thursdays between 1PM and 3PM; 3. Show up at the appointed time at Cambridge Elementary School 1135 Lacey Lane (off of Monument Blvd) Concord

People have come from all over the area including Martinez, Antioch, Brentwood and points beyond. There are no residence requirements and everything is handled confidentially and in depth. They can maintain your records for follow up visits and make sure any additional testing is handled appropriately.

The delivery of these free services is a very noble gesture on the part of the charities doing so, but points out a significant problem with health care in the country. When seeing that these people are getting such services, the question that immediately arises is which areas have no health services for their people because nobody is offering them.
