Concord Diablo Rotary gleans tons of fruit for local food pantries

AConcord Diablo/Rotary community service project on Martin Luther King Day gleaned fruit trees in Concord and then transported the fruit to the various food pantry’s in the area. Karen Valles, Jimmy Araujo and Edi Birsan did the gleaning with this years target goal of several tons of fruit for the community. Fresh fruit is always welcomed by the food banks and this is the second year of the project which was originally inspired by Anna Chan known as the Lemon Lady. The Concord/Diablo Rotary meets at the Crowne Plaza on Wednesdays at noon.
