Prospecting Basics is an introduction to the process of identifying new donors for your organization. Diagnosis: Fundraising Success will help more experienced fundraisers determine if it is time to evaluate your agency’s fund development practices with a development audit. Prospecting Basics is taught by the Foundation Center, and Cheryl Clarke and Susan Fox - creators of Reality Grantmaking - are presenting the workshop on development audits. Prospecting Basics is offered in partnership with the CBO Center Center, Thursday, September 16th, 10:30 - 12:00, at the Concord Police Department’s Community Room, located on Galindo in Concord. The East Bay Stand Down will be held Aug. 7 to 10 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, 4501 Pleasanton Ave., Pleasanton. The event focuses on providing a variety of services for homeless veterans and is looking for help including cash donations, labor and other services. The Wellness Community recognizes Walnut Creek cancer caregiver

Dottie Leven, a Walnut Creek woman, was recognized today for her outstanding cancer caregiving efforts by The Wellness Community (TWC). Dottie’s inspiring story has been highlighted in TWC’s newest book, “The Balancing Act: Tips for the Cancer Caregiver”. The book features personal stories of cancer caregivers across the country and tools for individuals just beginning their journey as caregivers. The Balancing Act is part of the growing movement to empower cancer caregivers in their journey to be more effective, reduce their own distress, and find hope. Read more

The Eddie Hart All in One Foundation will be hosting a “Olympians & Friends Saving Youth” dinner, July 11, the night before the Eddie Hart Olympian Track and Field Education Clinic to be held at Pittsburg High School’s Pirate Stadium.
This year marks the 40th Anniversary for the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, and Eddie Hart will gather various members of the 1968 Olympic Track and Field Team to commemorate their exceptional Olympic experience.
