Campaign signs springing up like weeds

May 8, 2008

A reader snapped a picture of this sign near Diablo Country Club. I tend to consider candidate’s campaign signs as Tombstones of Democracy as they clearly illustrate how disconnected candidates and parties are from voters. That said, it’s obvious this is a homemade sign as you can see someone took the time to print out the 6-separate sheets used to brew this political speech.

So as Primary season gears up, send pictures of unique vernacular examples you find to editor@halfwaytoconcord.com, and we will publish what we can space permitting. Pictures of defaced signs, no matter how funny, will not be considered.

These signs are all over Alamo. Supervisor Piepho has angered many of the residents of Alamo and they will not stand for it. Supervisor Piepho has taken away what the people want. They want an elected MAC. Alamo wants people to be elected because elected individuals are suppose to speak for the people. Our Supervisor who wants to appoint people that will only do what she wants. Piepho is a control monger and does not want communities to have a voice in their own destiny. The County will miss the revenue after we become a city. June 3, 2008 will not come soon enough so we can get rid of her once and for all!

Piepho has thumbed her nose at Alamo residents ever since she came into office. It’s time for the people of Alamo and the rest of her district to thumb their nose at her on June 3rd and boot her out the door.

Piepho supporters here are always telling Houston minions that home grown local endorsements are indicative of grass roots support.

So I was encouraged Sunday, when I read the Times Letters Section, that Ralph Hoffman, Democrat and gadfly extraordinaire, to say the least, has thrown his considered support to Mary. Now we know what kind of local support Piepho attracts!

    LOL

In the ongoing saga of home made campaign signs we offer this home made mailer sent to us that points out the alleged mis-statements that appeared in a recent mailing from Erik Nunn.
