California Nurses challenge Erik Nunn campaign mailer
May 21, 2008
The California Nurses Association, representing 5,000 Registered Nurses in Contra Costa County, spoke out recently about a mailer sent to voters in Supervisor District 5 by candidate Erik Nunn. In one panel, the mailer contains a photograph of Nunn talking to two Sutter Delta nurses on strike holding a California Nurses Association sign, inferring that he has the support of East County nurses.
“The photograph is obviously staged and manipulated to have voters believe that Mr. Nunn has the support of East County nurses,” Gerber stated. “It couldn’t be farther from the truth.” The CNA recently announced support for incumbent Federal Glover in his reelection bid.
The mailer primarily focuses on support for advanced Breast Cancer treatment and research. Its primary message advocates digital mammograms, education, and access to health insurance.
Yet another panel shows Nunn standing in front of the Medical Center. “The voters need to know that Erik Nunn was fired from his job as a County security guard for harassing and physically attacking a co-worker,” Gerber added.
Snip Snip. Such is local politics.
Despite his touching personal story and good ideas for healthcare treatment and finance reform, like Pentheus in Euripedes’ The Bacchae, it looks like Erik just got whacked, but may still be intact. Snip Snip, indeed.

That’s a pretty serious charge. What’s behind it?

Actually Cowellian, Erick Nunn was never fired for physically attacking a co-worker. You should get all the facts straight before you post things like this. Everyone has been focusing on Nunn lately, Trying to slander his name and character. People say ” he was a reserve police officer, that’s not the same as being a real police officer” Are you kidding me? Yeah I guess your right, He put on the uniform, went out and performed the same duties, protected our community, oh wait, but he did it for free. I guess it is different. I have even read where people have bashed him for saying he was a Marine ” Reserve “during Desert Storm, Not in Desert Storm. Really! I seem to remember he joined the Marines right out of high school. Not as a reserve as some people have bashed him for. He was Full blown Marine… It was not until later, after his first 4 years that he re-enlisted as a reserve. Who really cares wheather he actually went over seas in Desert Storm or not? He still signed the paper on the dotted line to defend his country. Does that make him any less of a Marine because they didn’t send him over? Yeah tell that to all the parents who have kids in the military now! When you run for any kind of public office you live in a glass house. It’s easy for people to sit back and bash everyone who is running. I can think of so many things to say about most of the other people running. The only thing Federal Glover delivers are false promisses. The guy’s been busted with meth, Um How Many Times? While in office! Agopian, come on! He brags about everything he has done with the Antioch school systems. I have lived here my whole life. I am not impressed. The Antioch School system is an Embarrasment now. Politics are Politics, people run slander campaigns…. He said she said stuff. It’s BS if you ask me. You may not like or want my opinion, I really don’t care. For me there are only two candidates who poses the brains and balls to give us the changes we need. As I said, like it or not Erik Nunn and Don Parscal are the only ones who should be on that ballot!
Morrow, you must have watched too much ” combat! ” on TV. Both of those guys are loose canons. Gary or Federal would be the only two that are ballot worthy.
Leaning towards voting out county incumbants would direct my vote for Gary.
