The BART strike has stranded 400K Bay Area commuters. Reflecting Bay Area residents frustration that enough is enough, Assembly District 16 candidate Catharine Baker has called on the Governor, and other candidates to Support Senate Bill 423 and End the BART Strike.
End the BART Strike
“BART unions are holding the entire Bay Area hostage, and it’s time we bring an end to that now.” Baker said. “I call on Governor Brown and the Legislature to pass SB 423 and close the loophole in state law that allows BART unions to strike and treat riders and the greater public like pawns.”
“Public service used to mean just that – public service. It should not mean making the public miserable until you get what you want,” Baker said.
Baker is also calling on all candidates in the Assembly 16 race to join her in supporting SB 423.
“This strike dramatically affects our East Bay community,” Baker said. “All candidates seeking to represent this area should take a stand on SB 423 today on a bipartisan basis and encourage the Legislature and Governor to do the same.”
Assembly district 16 includes portions of Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Cities within the district include: Alamo, Danville, Dublin, Lafayette, Livermore, Moraga, Orinda, Pleasanton, San Ramon, and Walnut Creek.
