Ashby Lumber partners with Monument Impact

Ashby Lumber has partnered with Monument Impact (nee Michael Chavez Center) to provide job training and career development skills.

Ashby Lumber has been serving Contra Costa County since 1988 when they opened a second store at the former Pearson Lumber facility on Hookston Road behind the old Montgomery Ward’s. Thirteen years later Ashby Lumber built a new facility on the former property of Romar’s RV located at 2295 Arnold Industrial Way in Concord.

Additionally, Ashby Lumber has committed to support the community and has provided assistance to the Bay Area Crisis Nursery, Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, Mt. Diablo Silverado Council of the Boy Scouts of America, Shelter Inc., Options for Women of California and Mt. Diablo Unified School District.

“We were thrilled when Ashby Lumber decided to partner with Monument Impact,” said Mike Van Hofwegen, Executive Director of Monument Impact.

“We are proud to support Monument Impact in their efforts to provide critical resources to individuals in the Monument community helping them to make a better life for themselves and their families.” states Dan Easley, General Manager. “As a local business we know the value of job training and career development services and are pleased to be a hiring partner for their Success Concord workforce development program. These services are helping Ashby Lumber meet our need of finding good employees.”
