piepho cut and paste mailer touts torlakson and leach supportI swear she doesn’t even know she does it, but last Sunday, the Times’ Lisa Vorderbrueggen emasculated yet another male politician in Contra Costa by pulling down poor Steve Thomas’ pants over a hasty cut and paste gaff in his campaign literature, while overlooking a similar no-no by “the girl,” who, apparently, can do no wrong. I thought that headline would get you to look. Many organizations “staff up” for the summer, as key people go on vacation. These new hires are thrust out of a minimal training program (they’re just here for the summer anyways, why spend a lot of time and money training?) if any at all and left to fend for themselves. To achieve an equal balance of students from throughout the state, the committee is composed of multiple reading teams from Northern California, Central California, and Southern California. Students are selected on specific criteria including but not limited to GPA, 3 essays, and 2 letters of recommendation. Read more »
